ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

For more than two decades of its existence Zaokski University has become home for thousands of boys and girls, men and women, and friends and trustees of this institution. This phenomenon can be explained in only one way: the mission of Zaokski University and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is one. The core of this mission is to help young people who study here live up to both the letter and the spirit of God's commandments and be faithful to Jesus. It is true regardless of what program young people are taking, what ministry they are preparing for, or what career they are pursuing.

In our world which is rapidly changing there are not so many constants left. Two of them are fundamental: Ten Commandments and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His Sermon on the Mount. Can there be a more noble educational goal than making a person one with the ever-lasting values of the Holy Scriptures and teaching them to obey the Word? Jesus compared the one who builds the house of their life on obeying God's Word with "a man building a house who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock" (Luke 6:48a). It is well known what happened to that house later: "And when the flood rose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it" (Luke 6:48b).

"Building well" is the basic slogan accepted at Zaokski Adventist University. Our doors are open for all who want to learn this art.
